Ohio history tells truly a colorful tale of pioneers and their families, their migration from other points in the
world and the trials and tribulations they underwent to settle in what was the northwest territory, the
frontier of the 18th century. Having studied family history and genealogy in Ohio for more than twelve years
now, I am continually amazed at just how resourceful our pioneer families were.

Wherever your Ohio genealogy began and no matter if they were rich or poor, politician or horse thief, they
all have one thing in common ;
I believe their story deserves to be told in a clear, concise and factual manner. As a member of the
Association of Professional Genealogist I am bound by a code of ethics that dictates the promotion of a
coherent, truthful approach to genealogy, family history, and local history.

Mid Ohio Genealogy is located in Columbus within minutes of the Ohio State Archives, The State Library of
Ohio and the Franklin County Courthouse. These are the largest among the many genealogy and record
repositories available in central Ohio.

I started doing genealogy in 1992 as a challenge from my father to make a family tree. After about a week
of working on that first project I was addicted! I was amazed at the vast wealth of information that was
available if you knew where to look. Of course in the beginning I didn't know were to look, I just stumbled on
to most of it. I soon learned what to look for and where to look for it. I found myself helping others with their
genealogies and passing on to them what I had learned.
